To bask in gold,
Is not my wish,
A name so glory,
I wish to hold,
A feat of fame,
I will implore,
Better than all,
I aim to prove,
Timid faces,
A scurrying sea,
So small, so little,
Dare challenge me?

Hopeful yearnings,
Of a brighter future,
Out there yonder,
But now I sit back,
And look out a window,
Cars and people,
Swift in motion,
Why is it they, can whiz right by?
But life as I know it,
Lumps in distraction,
I sit and I stare,
And watch shadows dance,
Soon day light will fade,
And the shadows will cease,
And then I retire,
To daze in my sleep,
I wish to stop thinking,
Of what life could be,
For I have forgotten the steps,
To dance as they do
